Based on what I’ve been seeing online – ’cause who actually goes into a CELINE boutique unless they’re, like, dripping in money? – it seems like they’re pushing this super minimalist vibe. Think perfectly tailored, impeccably made, but… devoid of the obvious CELINE branding.
Like, yeah, you can find the logo in the official boutiques and on celine.com. Duh. But the clothes themselves? Subtlety is the name of the game. Which, honestly, I kinda dig. I’m tired of seeing walking billboards everywhere, y’know? It’s like, “Hey, look at me, I can afford this!” Instead of, like, “Hey, I have *style*.”
And Hedi Slimane, the guy who’s basically calling the shots at CELINE, seems to be behind this whole aesthetic. Apparently, the whole “essence of the CELINE silhouette” was his brainchild back in 2018. So, you’re basically paying for… the essence? Is that even a thing? Anyway.
But here’s where I get a little confused, and maybe I’m just dense, but… is it *really* no logo? Or is it just, like, *discreet* logo? ‘Cause I’m betting there’s some sort of tiny, almost invisible branding somewhere, right? A stitched label, a hidden clasp… something. They can’t *completely* resist the urge to shout “CELINE!” at the world. Can they? Plus, everyone knows what it is, so even without the logo, people KNOW it’s CELINE, which, in a way, makes it even more bougie, you know?
And tbh, sometimes the lack of logo makes the whole thing feel… kinda boring. Like, yeah, it’s well-made, it’s probably super flattering, but is it *interesting*? Does it make you stop and stare? Or does it just blend into the background of all the other expensive, minimalist clothing out there? I mean, the Rouge Triomphe lipstick sounds cool, but that’s makeup, not the clothes, lol.
