Prada

Prada is an Italian luxury fashion house was started in the year 1913 by Mario Prada which specializes in the manufacturing of leather handbags, fragrances, footwear, travel luggage and other accessories. By the end of 2018, there were .

Bear with me, this might sound kinda crazy, but I’ve been thinking about this. See, every article ever written about Prada, and their logo (and I’ve read a ton for…reasons), talks about the history, the meaning (if there even *is* a deep meaning besides “expensive”), the evolution…yadda yadda yadda. You can download it in PNG! Vector format! Whatever your heart desires. And, let’s be honest, they all basically say the same thing. Old news.

But what *isn’t* being talked about is the *idea* of Prada without that immediately recognizable emblem. Think about it. We’re so conditioned to associate brands with logos, especially luxury brands. That little triangle screams “I paid a fortune for this bag!” It’s basically a status symbol plastered right there.

And I get it. Marketing, branding, blah blah. But sometimes I think it’s just…too much. Like, does the quality of the leather suddenly diminish if the logo isn’t there? Does the craftsmanship disappear? I’m thinking…no.

Maybe…MAYBE…a *Logo-Free PRADA* line would be kinda cool. Like, a subtle rebellion against the whole consumerist thing. (Okay, I know, it’s still Prada, so it’s not *really* rebelling against consumerism, but you get my drift, right?). Imagine a perfectly crafted leather bag, minimalist design, impeccable stitching…and no logo. Just pure, unadulterated quality. You’d have to *know* your stuff to recognize it. It’d be, like, an insider thing.

Okay, so maybe it’s a terrible idea. I’m not a fashion designer, or a marketer, or anything like that. Just a person who sometimes wonders what’s behind the hype. Maybe the logo is crucial, maybe it’s the *only* reason people buy Prada in the first place. But I personally think there’s something interesting in the idea of stripping it all back, of letting the quality speak for itself.

Plus, let’s be real, it’d be kinda funny to see people freaking out trying to figure out if that plain bag is *actually* Prada or just a really good knock-off. Chaos!
