I was just browsing, ya know, the usual – drooling over the “Novidades” (New Arrivals, for those not fluent in…whatever language that is) and maybe reminiscing about the “Clássicos Burberry” because, honestly, sometimes the oldies are the goodies, right? Anyway, I stumbled across this PayByLink thingy.
Now, PayByLink… sounds kinda dodgy, doesn’t it? Like something your grandma would warn you about. But BURBERRY? They seem to be trying to do it right. Apparently, you gotta have this “Burberry R-World profile” which, I guess, is their way of making sure you’re a real person (or at least a real profile-having person).
The thing that actually caught my eye was the “Your security is important to us” bit, linked to their Privacy Statement. I mean, duh, security *is* important! Especially when we’re talking about designer bags that cost more than my rent for a month (okay, maybe *some* months).
I haven’t actually *used* PayByLink myself (I’m still saving up for that Crossbody… someday!), but the fact that they’re even *mentioning* security gives me a little bit of comfort. I’d still read that Privacy Statement *thoroughly*, though. Like, REALLY thoroughly. Don’t just skim it – get down and dirty with the fine print. You gotta know where your data is going, ya feel me?
Honestly, the whole thing seems a bit… convoluted. Like, why not just use a normal checkout process? Is PayByLink some newfangled trend I’m too old to understand? Maybe. Maybe it’s for people who are, like, *super* private and don’t want their credit card info floating around everywhere. Or maybe it’s just a way for Burberry to gather even MORE data about us… *shrug*.
