So, I was digging around (aka, Googling), and apparently, Balenciaga hats are a thing. Like, a *serious* thing. We’re talking “elevate your everyday attire” with “sports-inspired headwear” kinda thing. Which, honestly, just sounds like a fancy way of saying “expensive baseball cap.” But whatever, I’m not judging… much.
The RealReal (which, btw, I’ve totally bought stuff from, and it’s usually pretty legit) is selling pre-owned Balenciaga hats for up to 90% off. 90%! That’s HUGE. Still probably expensive, but, you know, less expensiver. Plus, you can feel good about… recycling fashion? I dunno. Trying to make it sound eco-friendly.
Then there’s Saks. Gotta love Saks. Free shipping and returns! Always a winner. They’re saying “new arrivals from today’s top brands.” So, I guess Balenciaga is still considered a “top brand.” Which, duh.
Okay, so where does the “tax-free” part come in? I’m guessing that’s probably if you’re, like, a tourist in France (judging from the first blurb I found) and can claim back the VAT. It’s a whole process, involves a lot of paperwork (ugh), but hey, if you’re already dropping a small fortune on a hat, why not jump through some hoops for a little extra cash back? I mean, you could buy, like, a *slightly* less expensive hat with that money. Or, you know, actual food. Just sayin’.
And then there’s the “logo-mania” thing. Which, ugh. Big logos are just… loud. But hey, some people are into that. You do you, I guess. Personally, I’d rather have a plain hat, maybe with, like, a cool texture or something. Subtlety is key, people!
Oh, and balaclavas! Wait, are balaclavas hats? I guess technically they cover your head. But they’re also kinda… creepy? Like bank robber vibes. Unless you’re, like, actually skiing. Then they’re totally necessary. But a Balenciaga balaclava? Just feels… excessive. And probably really hot.
